Thy Kingdom Come
Every time you pray Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10), you ask for something that has not happened yet. Read the news. The earth is not doing God's will as heaven does.
Scripture answers that prayer with a promise. The King is coming to reign on this earth, in the world that rejected Him, from the city where He was crucified. For a thousand years the Lord Jesus will rule the nations in righteousness. God will keep every promise He made to Abraham, to David, and to Israel, and creation will taste what it lost in Eden.
We believe in the premillennial return of Christ to the earth and His literal rule of one thousand years. He returns seven years after He receives His church at the Rapture. After the thousand years come the Great White Throne judgment, and then the new heaven and the new earth.
The thousand-year reign of Jesus Christ on the earth after His Second Coming, when Satan is bound, the saints reign with Christ, Israel is restored, and the nations live under His righteous rule.
When God makes a promise, does He keep it in the sense in which He made it?
