How it works

Three Layers of Learning.

Start with a question you care about. Go as deep as you want. Every layer teaches the same doctrine, so nothing is repeated and nothing is lost.

01
Learn

Five Minutes, One Idea at a Time

Swipe through short, beautifully designed cards: a question, the Scripture that answers it, a key term, a moment from history, and a check that you understood.

02
Understand

Open Any Card to Go Deeper

Every important idea has more behind it: the original wording, more Scripture, common misunderstandings, and how believers have answered them.

03
Study

A Reference Library When You're Ready

Each doctrine has a full article: the biblical foundation, the history, alternative views stated fairly, common objections, and why it matters.

Theologica on a phone: a knowledge check asks which statement best expresses John 1:1–3, with the right answer marked.
The curriculum

Your own Bible study

Five minutes a day through what the Bible teaches, with the Scripture open in every lesson.

Small groups and Sunday school

Each lesson opens with a question and the passages that answer it: a ready outline for a class.

Pastors and teachers

Full Study articles with the biblical foundation, the history, objections, and further reading.

Anyone weighing seminary

Work through the subjects a seminary teaches, at your own pace, before or alongside formal study.

Scripture first
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
JOHN 1:1

Every doctrine is grounded in the text. Each lesson opens the passage itself and lets Scripture speak first.

Scripture memory Plus

Hide the Word in Your Heart.

Tap + on any passage in a lesson, a Study article, or the Scripture panel to start memorizing it. Practice it four ways: read it, fill in the blanks, recall it from first letters, then type it from memory. Spaced review brings each verse back just before you would forget it.

Church history

Christ's Churches Never Ceased.

Follow the councils, the controversies, and the rise of Rome, alongside the believer-baptizing churches that stood apart from it in every age.

Others see it differently

Understand Other Traditions Fairly.

What do Catholics, Presbyterians, Pentecostals, Jehovah's Witnesses, or Latter-day Saints believe, and why? Each comparison shows what they believe, why they believe it, what we believe, why, and why it matters.

What we believe

Baptist. Biblical. Not Calvinist, Not Arminian.

Theologica teaches its convictions plainly and represents other views accurately.

  • The Bible is inspired, inerrant, infallible, and sufficient: the final authority for faith and practice.
  • One God eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • Jesus Christ is eternally God and truly man. He died in our place and rose bodily from the dead.
  • Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, and the one truly saved is kept forever.
  • God is sovereign, and every person is genuinely responsible to respond to Him.
  • Baptism is for believers, by immersion. Each local church stands independent under Christ alone.
  • Christ's churches have never ceased from the earth, distinct from Rome in every age.
  • Christ will come for His church before the tribulation and reign on earth for a thousand years.

Questions

Before You Begin.

Is Theologica an online seminary?

No. Theologica is not a school: it is not accredited and does not award degrees or course credit. It teaches the subjects a seminary's theology courses cover, such as systematic theology, apologetics, hermeneutics, and church history, in short lessons any believer can take without enrolling.

Is Theologica free?

Yes. Every account is free and includes 19 complete lessons, an overview of every doctrine, the church history timeline, and guides for sharing the Gospel. Theologica Plus, $39.99 a year with a 7-day free trial, opens all 397 lessons, every Study article, and Scripture memory.

Which Bible translation does Theologica use?

The King James Version. Scripture in the lessons and Study articles is quoted from the KJV.

What does Theologica believe?

Theologica is non-denominational Baptist and biblical: the Bible is inspired, inerrant, and sufficient; salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone; and the one truly saved is kept forever. It is neither Calvinist nor Arminian, and it explains other traditions fairly, from their own sources.

Is Theologica part of a denomination?

No. Theologica is non-denominational Baptist. It belongs to no denomination or convention and answers to no denominational head, and it holds that each local church stands independent under Christ alone. It is not part of the Independent Fundamental Baptist movement.

How long does a lesson take?

About five minutes. A lesson is a short set of cards: a question, the Scripture that answers it, a key term, a moment from church history, and a check that you understood. Every doctrine also has a full Study article for deeper reading.

Can I use Theologica for a group Bible study or Sunday school?

Yes. Each lesson opens with a question and the passages that answer it, so it works as an outline for a class or small group. Share a lesson's link, and anyone can read its free preview without an account.

Do I need to download an app?

No. Theologica runs in any web browser on a phone, tablet, or computer. Apps for iPhone and Android are on the way.
